Ultrasound

Here she is!
We got another look at the newest addition to the Beaghan family today. We had a non medical ultrasound - which just means it was just for fun! She gave us a few good pictures even though she was grabbing the umbilical cord and holding it in front of her face. She also let us confirm that she is still a girl! We think she's going to be another beautiful girl, just like her sisters. We could see her big eyes (like Jessica) and her little Hersey nose and chin (like Rachel). We also know she has a good amount of hair already too. I could have told you that just with the heartburn I get every night.
We are almost 30 weeks now, so only 10 more to go! I have to say, it's getting harder everyday. I had some nausea over the weekend and had trouble keeping anything down. They had me go to triage on Monday to get some IV fluids. They took some blood work and monitored the baby and contractions too. That was miserable, but at least we know everything is ok.

Cupcakes

Here's a cute one of the girls helping me make cupcakes. I think this is the first time we've done this together! It actually went pretty well.

Sorry - not sure why the picture is so small. I'll have to figure out what's different about this posting.

Halloween Pictures

I realized I never posted any pictures of Halloween. So here they are.

Gymnastics and Ballet

The girls started a Ballet class at the Township building on Thursday nights. They really enjoyed the first class last week. So far, they know all 5 positions and are quick to correct me when I try to do them. Unfortunately, there is always one child in a class that needs an attitude adjustment and the parent just never seems to do anything about it! I'm not sure I'll be able to sit through another class if something isn't said to them!! Look out, pregnancy hormones on the loose!

The gymnastics class Jessica used to participate in did not start up yet, so we took her to the 'big gym' (where the instructor is from). They had an open house and let the kids just play and do whatever they wanted. Jessica loved it. Rachel's session didn't start until 6:30, so the poor kid was tortured just watching her big sister having all the fun. Her session was more of a Halloween party though, where they created a maze using all the mats and padded things covered with parachutes. Reminded me of how we used to rearrange the furniture in my parents basement and create mazes to crawl through in the dark!! They also had a big blow up haunted house the kids could walk through. Sorry - I didn't take any pictures. They both keep asking if we can go back there, so we are conisdering signing them up for classes. What they don't understand is the class will have an instructor telling them what they can and cannot do. That might change their tune a bit.

I took off Tuesday from work to attend Jessica's Parent Visitation day. Of course, she ends up with a fever and laryngitis Monday night. So instead of a nice day off I was home with a sick kid. It actually turned out to be a nice day. She took some meds and felt better, so she played with me and Rachel all day. We painted a picture that they named "A Picture of Flowers", we played board games, computer games, and watched TV. It was a much better day than being at work!! I might have to consider this stay at home Mom gig! Just kidding Mom.

On a sad note, A co-worker of mine had a baby boy on Monday but unfortunately, he's not doing so well. The cord was wrapped around his neck and he didn't breathe for the first minute of life. They actually had to revive him. From that, they think he may have brain damage and a condition called DIC, which causes internal bleeding. They are giving him a 50/50 chance of survival. The worst part is that they had scheduled a C-Section because he was breech back on 10/13 but canceled because he turned himself around. She went into labor naturally on Monday and is now faced with all these circumstances because of the cord. She and her family can use all the extra thoughts and prayers!

Hope you all are doing well! I hope to report better news about baby Blaine on the next posting!

PreNatal Checkup #4

We had another prenatal visit yesterday. I tell ya, these months are passing by pretty quickly! I'm now 24 weeks and 4 days, (5 1/2 months)! Dr. E said the baby has a good chance of viability at this point.

I also noticed some funny pains over the weekend - nothing serious just some weird movement. Since then, I've felt a great deal of downward pressure. I was thinking the baby probably turned head down. Dr. E confirmed yesterday that she is now head down! Not that she won't turn back around, but it just makes me feel better knowing she's already down. Her head is about the size of a baseball and she's just reaching 1 pound and about 1 foot long. My mom even said I looked lower this weekend.

Last night as Jessica was reading to us, the baby started to kick around a bit. I told Jess to stop and just watch my belly. The baby let out a big kung fu kick and Jessica was able to see it from the outside. She was amazed! Rachel wasn't paying enough attention and missed it. It's really neat to be able to share it with them. Although, they keep calling the baby Alyssa even though we said that probably won't be the baby's name.

That's all for now!!

Pictures

Here are a few pictures from our weekend. We visited Sam Lewis State park and 'hiked' one of the trails - -And yes I'm crazy thinking I could do it 5 months pregnant. But I did do it!
